Shooting for Grace at the 4th Annual Ministry Village Clay Shoot

What if you could play a part in –

  • putting someone on the path to freedom from addiction.
  • helping someone heal their emotional and spiritual wounds.
  • guiding someone through life’s darkness into the light God’s love provides.

What if you could help change a life?

You can – right here in our community – by supporting The Charis House, a program of Ministry Village at Olive – at the Ministry Village Clay Shoot

The 4th Annual Ministry Village Clay Shoot – a fundraiser for the Charis House – will take place on Saturday, September 26th at the Santa Rosa Shooting Center. The day begins at 7:30 AM with check-in, followed by the safety meeting and the start of the tournament. Lunch is included – hot off the cooker thanks to Ready Mix USA – and will immediately follow the shoot. All shooters must provide their own shotgun and shells.

Dr. Stephen Newsome, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Ministry Village at Olive, is looking forward to this year’s tournament because of its purpose. “The annual Clay Shoot provides a fun way for us to share the work of Ministry Village with our community, and provide an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life. The work done at the Charis House is life-changing and life-saving. But it takes resources to support that work. It costs about $1,600 each month to provide housing, shelter, and program support for just one woman. Each woman commits to a minimum of 1 year in the program, so the costs add up quickly. This fundraiser is a wonderful way to support Ministry Village.”

Event participants may register as individuals or in teams of 4 shooters. There will be 12 shooting stations, and the Santa Rosa Shooting Center promises a fun time for everyone, from the novice to the expert marksman. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first and second place teams, with special recognition given to the individual shooters with the highest and lowest scores as well as the best Junior Shooter. And, as is customary with most sporting tournaments, there is a trophy up for grabs. The winning team’s name will be engraved in the tournament trophy and the team can display the trophy for one year with full bragging rights – until the next tournament.

As in years past, there will be several fantastic door prizes awarded throughout the event. A Winner’s Choice Raffle –limited to only 100 tickets – will award the winner with the choice of a Browning Citori Over and Under OR a Benelli Super Blackhawk. Clay Shoot Event T-shirts and a variety of sponsorship packages are also available.
