Ministry Village ELC Celebrates One Year with a Pattycake Pajama Party

 In Uncategorized

Get ready to clap, sing and dance with Miss PattyCake (aka Jean Thomason) when the PattyCake Pajama Party comes to Olive Baptist Church on Saturday, February 29 at 10 AM. The event is hosted by the Ministry Village Early Learning Center and Preschool at Olive. Proceeds for the event will benefit the Ministry Village ELC.

Using songs that both teach and praise God, Miss PattyCake leads toddlers, preschoolers and parents in a fun-filled time of singing, laughing and learning. Miss PattyCake’s motto is, “We have two hands to clap, one heart to love, a voice to sing, and every song can give thanks and praise to God!”

“We wanted to do something to celebrate how far we’ve come as we reached the one-year mark at the ELC,” said Kristi Zagar, Director of the Ministry Village Early Learning Center. “Miss PattyCake is a star in the world of preschool praise and worship, so we thought, ‘What if…?’ We partnered with Sharon Barnes (Director for Preschool at Olive) to be able to make it a community event, and her team has really made all of the pieces fall into place. The kids and parents are excited and looking forward to having a fun time together at Miss PattyCake’s show.”

Jean Thomason, the woman behind Miss PattyCake, is a published author, speaker and teacher whose heart for encouraging preschoolers to learn about and love God led her to create Miss PattyCake more than 20 years ago. Mrs. Thomason also speaks to and coaches parents, empowering them to spiritually guide and teach their young children. Her passion for children is grounded in her deep desire for the next generation to love God, and she has made it her life’s work to reach children and families for the Lord. Serving in churches in Birmingham, AL; Franklin, TN; and Mobile, AL; Mrs. Thomason’s experience leading praise and worship has now come full circle as she plants seeds of God’s truth in young lives through her events around the country. Her vision and passion are contagious and will encourage and inspire parents and caregivers to do the daily work that helps lead little ones to a saving knowledge of Jesus.

Tickets are on sale now for $5 for all ages and are available at the Ministry Village Early Learning Center (1724 E. Olive Road) or online at All proceeds benefit the Ministry Village Early Learning Center, a program of Ministry Village at Olive.

The event will be held in the Olive Baptist Church Worship Center at 1836 E. Olive Road in Pensacola. Doors will open at 9:30 AM. The show begins at 10 AM and will be followed by a meet and greet with Miss PattyCake. Since it is a pajama party, children are encouraged, but not required, to wear their pajamas for the show.
