Picnic with a Purpose
On Sunday, October 20, the board of directors, the ladies of the Charis House, Ministry Village staff and volunteers who serve the various programs of Ministry Village at Olive, enjoyed a fun afternoon of fellowship, including a family picnic and outdoor games.
Board Member Jerry Wood prayed over everyone in attendance and thanked God for the love and compassion that each person brings to their roles at Ministry Village. There was an abundance of potluck salads, appetizers, pastas, and desserts with Chef Bob’s famous pulled pork serving as the main attraction.
“It isn’t often that the people who work in the wide array of programs we offer can get together to just relax, have fun, and get to know each other better,” said Jeremy Portmann, Executive Director of Ministry Village at Olive. “This picnic is a chance to take some time to thank everyone for the love they show our community each and every day through their work with Ministry Village.”
From employees and volunteers who serve at the Ministry Village Bargain Center to the people who serve the needy and homeless through the Tender Hearts Caring Hands ministry at the MVO Office – from the Most Excellent Way leaders and mentors to the preschool directors and teachers at the Ministry Village Early Learning Center – from the House Managers, prayer leaders and mentors who work with the Charis House to the ladies of the Charis House who volunteer throughout MVO’s programs as a way of giving back all the love they’ve been shown – the Ministry Village at Olive programs could not carry out our mission without all of these individuals who have a love for Jesus and the willing hearts to serve our community.
❤️Thank you to everyone who serves each and every day through Ministry Village at Olive.❤️
