Ten Attitudes of Victorious Living

The Most Excellent Way (MEW), a Christian support group for anyone affected by drugs, alcohol, or any type of addiction, began meeting at Olive Baptist Church in 1993. When Ministry Village at Olive was founded in 2008, the local Most Excellent Way ministry became one of MVO’s programs.

Born in 1986 in San Diego, CA, The Most Excellent Way began as a weekly prayer meeting. The encouragement provided through those meetings resonated with so many people looking for hope that word quickly spread. Soon, the founders of Most Excellent Way were helping other churches and organizations across the country learn how to support people in their own local communities.

The foundation of Most Excellent Way is their Ten Attitudes of Victorious Living. These Ten Attitudes are derived from Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount, and they provide a Christ-focused framework for those struggling with addiction as they work toward recovery.

The Ten Attitudes goal is to align your personal attitude with that of Jesus. Keeping God’s Kingdom as your focus, you can find the peace and strength to overcome your addiction.

Anyone struggling with addiction, or any family members who have been affected by the addictions of someone they love, are welcome to attend a Most Excellent Way meeting. Meetings are open to anyone, and there is no charge at any time. You will find a supportive environment of caring people who understand the challenges you face and will support you so you don’t have to face your challenges alone. You can find hope in the midst of despair.

  • Most Excellent Way meetings are held each week at the Olive Baptist Church Main Campus (Tuesdays and Fridays from 7pm to 8:30pm). Meetings are open to anyone struggling with addictive behavior, as well as the family members and loved ones of those struggling.
  • Volunteers interested in working with MEW can provide encouragement, a listening ear, and prayerful support to those who attend our meetings. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering with MEW, or if you are interested in participating in a Friends and Family support group through MEW, contact Scott Heald at SHeald@ministryvillage.org or by phone at 850-475-1112.
