Don’t Miss Your Shot To Support Ministry Village at Olive
Clays, plates, pull, ready, hup – if you are familiar with these terms being grouped together, odds are you know a thing or two about clay shooting. Ministry Village at Olive is hosting its second annual Sporting Clays Tournament on October 12 at Santa Rosa Shooting Center in Pace, Florida. The tournament is a fundraiser for Ministry Village and all proceeds will be used to support the work of the Charis House, Tender Hearts Caring Hands, Most Excellent Way and the Ministry Village Early Learning Center.
The day begins at 7:30 AM with check-in and breakfast provided by Hardees, followed by the safety meeting and the start of the tournament. Lunch is included – hot off the cooker thanks to Ready Mix USA – and will immediately follow the shoot. All shooters must provide their own shotgun and shells.
“Our first tournament last year was a great success,” said Scott Heald, Administrator of the Most Excellent Way, Jail and Homeless Ministries for Ministry Village. “More than 90 shooters participated last year, and every person told me how much fun they had and how they hoped we would do this event again. Even the manager of the shooting range told us how well organized and enjoyable our event was, and he hosts a lot of events each year. We are excited to be able to host the tournament again this year.”
Participants may register as individuals or in teams of 4 shooters. There will be 12 shooting stations, and the Santa Rosa Shooting Center promises a fun time for everyone — from the novice to the expert marksman. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first and second place teams, with special recognition given to the individual shooters with the highest and lowest scores as well as the best Junior Shooter. And, as is customary with most sporting tournaments, there is a trophy up for grabs. The winning team’s name will be engraved in the tournament trophy and the team can display the trophy for one year – until the next tournament.
Heald emphasized the camaraderie and fellowship that participants enjoyed in last year’s tournament. “This is a fun opportunity for people in our community to come together and support the work Ministry Village does every day while getting to know fellow sporting enthusiasts. We’ll have refreshments in the morning, a great lunch, and door prizes. It’s just a fun day for a worthy cause with a little good-natured competition thrown in for some excitement.”
🎯Participation is limited to the first 120 shooters and event sponsorships are also available.
