Ministry Village Bargain Center Joins Hands to Help with Hurricane Michael
On Thursday afternoon, October 11, Ministry Village learned about nursing home patients who were being evacuated from Panama City after Hurricane Michael and brought to Solaris Nursing Home in Pensacola.
The Ministry Village Bargain Center was honored to join with students from West Florida High School and our friends at East Brent Baptist Church and Sacred Heart Health System to gather supplies and help meet the immediate needs of these patients. Sacred Heart Health System donated no-slip socks, Ministry Village purchased new undergarments, and the Charis House ladies from Ministry Village gathered gently used clothing items from the Ministry Village Bargain Center for the nursing home evacuees.
Stories like this one abound on social media right now. Neighbors helping neighbors – people reaching out to strangers – all with a desire to lend a hand through this difficult catastrophe that hit so close to home. Stephanie Wilson, Manager of the Ministry Village Bargain Center, said she felt blessed to be in a position to help some of the people who had been displaced because of the devastating hurricane. “Ministry Village is here to help our neighbors – every day. This was one way we were able to be part of helping some people in need today. We hope it was a blessing to them – it was certainly an honor for us to be able to help.”
